CD artwork
at this site was made to be printed out with a color printer, but it
may
cause problems to less experienced users. Please have in mind
that
all the artwork has been correctly sized, so there is no need for
resizing
prior to printing, although some scans may look huge and the other very
small when downloaded. The viewed size depends on a resolution of a
particular
scan, which is mostly 200dpi and lower. For instance, when downloaded,
100dpi scan would look twice smaller when compared to 200dpi scan,
although
both would have exactly the same size
when
printed if
the right program would be
used.
When
printing
out the artwork the most common problem lies with the fact that some of
the users use a program that isn't capable of printing the image files.
Programs like web browsers print the screen image, not the source
file.
They translate the resolution of the file, 200dpi or other, into the
screen
resolution. That is why the high resolution artwork appears
so
big
on the screen. Only the files of 72dpi resolution would be printed
right
with these programs, but on the other hand the quality of 72dpi scan is
very low compared to the files of 200dpi or similar. If you are printing
and the output looks completely oversized, then you are using the wrong
program for printing images. Programs like: Corel
Draw, Corel Photo Paint, Adobe Photoshop, MS Paint
and other paint programs have no problem printing these files
correctly.
There are also many shareware and freeware file viewers on the internet
that also print these correctly. These programs print the
image
files
directly to your printer and web browsers print the screen image and
not
the file image.
